Our people


Dr. Prosper Techoro is recognized in Environmental Sustainability and Global Environmental Change issues. He an expert in strategic planning and design for the reduction of Electrical and Electronic Equipment Waste (EEE Waste) in developing countries. He possesses hands-on experience in e-waste characterization and enhancement data analyses.


His career has been guided by a motivation to ensure conducive and dignified living conditions of all human society with planetary boundaries. In his action area of climate change adaption and mitigation, he incorporates multi-disciplinary strategies in the development of coping and mitigation strategies for facile policy integration in local and national governments’ environmental policies and programs.


He has published widely on the issue of climate change adaptation, the green economy, the mitigation potential of African agriculture, clean energy, waste and water in peer-reviewed journals and have participated in a plethora of international conferences.


Dr. Techoro had been a Research/Teaching Assistant at the Chair of Environmental Planning, at the Brandenburg University of Technology, Cottbus–Senftenberg, Germany. Courses taught included:- Measuring Sustainability, Strategic Environmental Assessment, Environmental Impact Assessment and Integrated Environmental Planning. He also has expertise in project management, and recycling inventory/promotion, and Statistical Analysis Programming (SAS).


He holds a PhD in Environmental Science from the Brandenburg University of Technology, Cottbus-Senftenberg, Germany and Masters degree in Environment and Resource Management from the same university.




Dr Kennedy D. Nyongbela holds a B.Sc and PhD degree in Chemistry from the University of Buea, Cameroon. He is currently a lecturer of Organic and Pharmaceutical Chemistry courses in the Department of Chemistry, University of Buea, Cameroon.


He has participated in three (03) training programmes organized by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) notably: The Associate Programme (2011 in The Netherlands, UK and Malaysia); The Analytical Chemistry Course (2012, Pretoria, South Africa) and The Analytical Skills Development Course (2012, VERIFIN, University of Helsinki, Finland).


His research focus is in the area of antiparasitic drug discover/development from medicinal plants of Cameroon.

He has a number of published articles in international peer-reviewed journals and has participated in many international conferences/seminars.


Among his awards are: a fellowship award from Medicines for Malaria Venture(MMV) to carry out research on malaria at the University of Geneva, 2007 and the young researcher and best poster awards at the maiden University of Buea Science Expo, 2009.
